Our mission is to assist New Mexico’s Native Americans in designing prevention programs and accessing funding to
implement evidence-based prevention programs for promoting healthy lifestyles in Native American communities.
PURPOSE
To provide an organization which serves to increase knowledge, awareness and recognition of
substance abuse prevention and wellness issues among Native Americans
Serves as an advisory group on NA substance abuse prevention issues
Supports and advocates for prevention programs serving NM Native Americans
Represents Native American Substance Abuse Prevention programs funded by state, federal, local & private sources
Seeks additional funding sources for prevention
Provides recommendations to Behavioral Health Purchasing Collaborative on Tribal Substance Abuse Prevention needs
Establishes and maintains working relationships with Tribal, county, municipal, state and
national agencies of knowledge, skills and information related abuse prevention
Provides prevention evaluation and research results to Tribes, Region VI members and the public
Solicits Tribal Leadership and community support for prevention and healthy lifestyles
